Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside performer Finn, who featured in popular programs like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California this Monday after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Prolific TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.
Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
