Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night confirming they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of the player specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete directly, shared a series of photos on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.
Official Complaints Reportedly Unavailable
No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Legal Issues
Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people hurt. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
